Safeguarding at SASM

At St Andrew’s and St Mark’s CofE Junior School, we believe in providing a caring and supportive Christian environment. Children are at the centre of everything we do. Safeguarding is at the heart of our care for pupils and is an integral part of school life.

Keeping children safe - quick links

St Andrew’s and St Mark’s has a duty to keep children safe. This includes how we protect children from experiencing harm and how we should respond when we suspect or confirm that a child is being harmed.

We are committed to providing an environment in which children feel welcomed, safe, valued and respected. Adults in our school know that keeping children safe is everybody’s responsibility and that all children, regardless of age, gender, culture, language, race, ability, sexual identity, religion or lack of religion have equal rights to protection and opportunities.

Do you have concerns about a child?

Adults - you can contact the Single Point of Access to request support, or to report a concern about a child or young person. To make a referral, click here. You can also call for advice. Opening hours: From 8am to 5.15pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8am to 5pm on Friday call 020 8547 5008  (Out of hours, phone 020 8770 5000). If you think a child or young person is in immediate danger call 999. Referrals are not limited to safeguarding: the Single Point of Access acts as a signposting service to other services, including mental health. Matthew Gates is our Designated Safeguarding Lead
